Key Responsibilities

• Oversees daily kitchen operations under Chef Kamea’s direction

• In charge of ordering all food and supplies

• Manages inventory of ingredients, products, and kitchen essentials

• Ensures every dish meets Paws Bistro’s standards

• Maintains a clean, efficient, tail‑friendly workspace

• Strong communication abilities — must coordinate smoothly with both canine and human staff

Supports the Head Chef in all culinary operations and ensures plating perfection on every dish that leaves the kitchen. The Sous Chef is the steady paw behind the scenes, maintaining order, quality, and harmony in a fast‑paced, dog‑led environment.

• Assists the Head Chef with daily kitchen leadership and decision‑making

• Enforces strict plating standards and visual consistency

• Supervises kitchen staff and ensures smooth workflow during peak hours

• Oversees prep work, station readiness, and ingredient quality

• Steps in as acting Head Chef when needed

• Maintains a clean, efficient, and tail‑friendly workspace

Gatekeeper of the Dining Room

The backbone of kitchen cleanliness and safety. Ensures every bowl, plate, pan, and water dish meets Paws Bistro’s strict sanitation standards.

• Thoroughly wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and cookware

• Assist with overall kitchen sanitation, including surfaces, floors, and equipment

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and refresh sandbox areas to ensure a clean and hygienic environment at all times
  • Replace and neatly present hand towels with precision and consistency
  • Monitor and replenish restroom supplies proactively
  • Assess and apply signature doggy cologne to uphold the Paws Bistro brand standard
  • Respond immediately to any cleanliness concerns—no detail is too small
  • Ensure all restroom areas reflect the high standards of a five-paw dining experience

Article III — Employment & Compensation

Act of 2005: The canine freedom bill

Canines may legally:

  • Hold positions of employment within any industries, field or profession qualified within 
  • Receive compensation and maintain their on independenc.
  • Refuse unsafe or exploitative work conditions

No canine shall be forced into labor against its will.

Article III — Inter-Species Conduct

Article IV — Employment Standards

  • Humans may work alongside canine persons under equal labor protections
  • No human shall be replaced, displaced, or discriminated against based solely on species integration
  • Workplaces must maintain balanced inter-species safety protocols

Article II — Legal Naming Structure Post 2006 Event

All canine persons shall possess a legally recognized two-part name:

Section 2.1 — Household-Integrated Canines

Canines residing with human families during The Event shall:

• Retain their given name (pre-Event name)

• Adopt the legal surname of their human household

Example:

Socks Smith

(Given name: Socks / Family name: Smith)

This designation signifies:

• Established emotional bond

• Recognized household integration

• Automatic provisional guardianship status (now symbolic, not ownership)

Article II — Minimum Working Age

 Section 2.1 —Humans

  • The minimum legal age for employment shall be 14 years for non-hazardous roles
  • 16 years required for more physically demanding roles or inter-species workplaces
  • Guardians must approve employment for humans under 18 years

Section 2.2 — Canine Persons

  • The minimum legal working age for canine persons shall be 1 year
    (equivalent to early adolescence in canine development)
  • Canines under 2 years may only work under direct supervision by an approved guardian or trained staff member
  • All working canines must meet health, vaccination, and temperament requirements

  • Minimum wage for human employees shall follow local legal standards, adjusted for inter-species workplace integration.
  • Employers may provide additional service bonuses for high-performance roles.

Section 2.2 — Canine Persons

  • Minimum compensation for canine employees shall be equivalent to human minimum wage, adjusted for care costs and species needs.
  • Compensation may include:
     
    • Food & treats
    • Veterinary care
    • Grooming and hygiene products
    • Approved enrichment activities
  • Monetary funds are held in Canine Trust Accounts managed by guardians or employers, accessible only by IRCB-approved procedures

Canine Federal Compliance Act

Paws Bistro Compliance Statement

Paws Bistro proudly operates in full compliance with all applicable inter-species legislation.

  • All employment, compensation, working age, identification, and workplace safety standards for both human and canine employees meet or exceed legal requirements.
  • Specifically, Paws Bistro has implemented all minimum standards outlined in the Inter-Species Compensation & Wage Act (ISCWA), the Inter-Species Labor & Working Age Act (ISLWAA), the Inter-Species Identification & Registry Act (IIRA), and all other relevant statutes.
  • The restaurant adheres to the full spectrum of inter-species law, including the 5,000 federal and local statutes governing canine and human rights, safety, welfare, and workplace conduct.
  • Exception: Canine laws do not apply within the state of Florida. All inter-species compliance standards for canine employees are therefore modified accordingly for operations, residency, or business activity in that state. Human laws remain fully enforceable in Florida.
  • Paws Bistro maintains ongoing audits and compliance reviews to ensure that every employee—human or canine—receives proper pay, benefits, protection, and respect under the law where applicable.
  • Our policies reflect both legal obligation and our commitment to a Five-Paw standard of excellence in hospitality and inter-species harmony.
